DCH SPRING 2026 NEWSLETTER
Spring is a season of growth, and at DCH, that growth is taking shape in meaningful ways. Our community development efforts are reaching new heights with new housing coming soon to Queen City to the opening of Armonia Apartments, where families are already settling in.
This season also highlights our Connected Communities Initiative (CCI) through education, service, and fellowship. As you explore this newsletter, you’ll see how cross-sector partnership continues to be the foundation of it all. We thank you for joining us. Happy reading!
Armonia is Now a Place to Call Home
The Armonia Apartments ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the grand opening of our latest community development. The ceremony was the perfect way to bring National Community Development Week to a close with City of Dallas and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development officials, funding partners, and community organizations with a shared vision of a more equitable Dallas. The morning was filled with special remarks, fresh breakfast tacos, music, and a beautiful gallery display to showcase the story of DCH.
Armonia is a 15-unit development located in the historically rich La Bajada neighborhood of West Dallas. It is designed to provide high-quality, attainable housing for a diverse range of residents. The property features a mixed-income model, serving residents earning between 30% and 120% of Area Median Income (AMI). This approach supports long-term economic diversity, neighborhood stability, and a truly harmonious living environment.

DCH Explores Portland, Oregon with ULI
DCH is proud to announce that Kristen Williams, Director of External Affairs, has been selected to participate in the ninth cohort of the ULI Health Leaders Network. The Health Leaders Network aims to empower real estate and land use professionals with the skills, knowledge, and networks to improve health and social equity outcomes in their professional practice and communities.
Williams joined 36 professionals in Portland for their Introductory Forum learning about work from diverse fields, including real estate development, planning, design, engineering, finance, community engagement, and public health. Leaders were selected for their commitment to fostering healthier and more equitable built environments, and we are excited to see their future contributions.
Dalls Free Press Interviews Jason Brown
DCH welcomed Dallas Free Press for a conversation with our president, Jason Brown, about the Armonia Apartments, his leadership in the Greater Dallas community, and how his South Dallas roots shape his work today. We recognize the importance of local media that tells the communities’ stories with integrity. Thank you Dallas Free Press’ Content and Partnerships Manager, Jennie Trejo, and photojournalist, Camilo Diaz Jr, for stopping by the office and gathering important stories. Stay tuned for the full interview.

DCH Back to Class
DCH’s Jason Brown and Kristen Williams visited Dallas ISD’s Biomedical Preparatory for Career Day to show students that their communities and the greater built environment all exist because of development and what that process looks like on both micro and macro levels. The students were able to be hands-on and draw their own ideal city and pitch their development to their classmates representing “city council”. It was exciting to invest in the next generation of bright minds through our Connected Communities Initiative.
It was a full-circle moment for Brown since he learned about the vast career opportunities in real estate at a career day himself.
DCH Sits on DHC Panel
DCH President, Jason Brown, served on a panel hosted by the Dallas Housing Coalition discussing expanding homeownership models here in Dallas. Topics included duplexes, community land trusts, and other “missing middle” housing solutions. Leaders focused on practical, scalable paths to help more residents move from renting to owning. It was valuable to share a stage and our perspectives with collaborators who were equally committed to making housing more accessible, equitable, and community-driven.
Queen City & LipGloss for Love Spring Break Event
Over spring break, Director of External Affairs, Kristen Williams had a blast at the Queen City Block Party hosted by one of our community partners, LipGloss for Love.
They do incredible work supporting families to educate, raise awareness, and prevent domestic violence.
Williams shared information about the Armonia Apartments and the mission of DCH.
It was a day filled with good food, music, and connection.
Collaboration Meets Community Development
One of our first engagements of the year was our groundbreaking event in Queen City with Wells Fargo. What began as a connection at our first National Night Out in the historic Queen City neighborhood has grown into new single-family homes for working families.
Intentional development strengthens neighborhoods, honors their legacy, and creates pathways to homeownership.

Supporting Smith Chapel A.M.E. Church in Raising $7,000
DCH was proud to support Smith Chapel A.M.E. Church in raising $7,000 for nonprofits addressing food insecurity, homelessness, and domestic violence in southern Dallas. Their Family, Friends, and Community Partners Sunday was a beautiful showcase of powerful partnership between local organizations, small businesses, and faith communities. After service, DCH leadership, Jason Brown, Kristen Williams, and Tracy Williams (far right) captured a photo with Bro. Darwin Wade.
SouthState Bank Think Tank
DCH served as a community partner for Think Tank’s Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) in partnership with SouthState Bank. COPE is an immersive poverty simulation that serves as a training experience to educate people on the real-world impact of poverty and to insight compassion, connection, and influence. The experience was truly transformative and we’re glad to have been a part of SouthState Bank’s Community Development Advocate Training experience.
