Years Advocating for Housing
Where you live matters
We want to play a role in ensuring that equitable affordable housing needs are met in every community as an advocate, developer, owner, manager, or partner.
Transforming disinvested neighborhoods and preserving housing affordability
For over 30 years, Dallas City Homes (DCH) has been a non-profit leader in promoting affordable housing. Since its inception DCH has developed or preserved the affordability of more than 2,400 apartments and participated in the construction, renovation or development of more than 350 homes for sale. DCH partners with local organizations, businesses, and national entities to support progressive housing policies that create healthy and sustainable communities.
Our Connected Communities Initiative is at the Foundation of What We Do.
For over 34 years, Dallas City Homes has delivered more than just housing—we’ve created lasting impact in the communities we serve. Our Connected Communities Initiative (CCI) is a new name for the work we’ve long been doing to strengthen neighborhoods and uplift residents. This initiative encompasses the social service programs offered at our housing developments, as well as broader capacity-building efforts—particularly with the Queen City Neighborhood Association.
Our programs focus on advancing key social determinants of health, improving the built environment, and developing essential life-management skills. From on-site enrichment opportunities—like a developing computer lab to help close the digital divide—to wellness initiatives, our efforts continue to make a meaningful difference, one resident at a time.
As Neighborhood Capacity Building Partners, we’ve helped equip the Queen City Neighborhood Association with the tools, training, and support needed to protect and preserve their historic community. Whether it’s through annual events or strategic consulting, Dallas City Homes remains deeply committed to fostering strong relationships and building lasting community pride.
What We Do
We build communities
Dallas City Homes builds apartment communities and develops single-family homes for purchase, creating additional opportunities for families to establish long-term stability.
We support families
Dallas City Homes pursues developments that expand access to high-quality housing.
We invest in neighborhoods
Dallas City Homes invests in thoughtful redevelopment and preservation to expand access to quality housing while protecting long-term affordability in communities with urgent needs.
We provide access to resources
We provide programs that support youth, adults, and families.
We focus on building attainable housing
Our goal is to increase access to affordable housing through new development.
We don’t just rent or sell homes, but we help create places where people can belong.
We don’t offer mortgages, but we work to make housing more accessible.
We don’t flip properties. We reinvest in places that matter, strengthening roots instead of replacing them.
We don’t provide direct services or financial aid, but we create supportive programs that guide, empower, and open doors.
We don’t manage properties at scale, but we steward a few of our developments to ensure they reflect our long-term vision for attainable housing.
