National Night Out at Hillburn Hills

October 4th was National Night Out and Dallas City Homes celebrated this event with their community at Hillburn Hills. Never heard of National Night Out? Well, it hasn’t been around that long, but this initiative aligns with so many of the Dallas City Homes values, that we were really excited to jump in and become part of this movement. 

What is National Night Out? 

National Night Out is a community building campaign to bring together first responders, police officers, and other community safety providers together with neighbors to get to know each other. Nationally this event takes place the first Tuesday of August, but in Texas and other select communities, it is the first Tuesday of October. The best way to promote a more cooperative and safe community, is to get to know your neighbors, and this night out was a great way to connect. 

National Night Out in Hillburn Hills 

We had so much fun at this National Night Out and our community was joined by the Dallas Public Library and the Dallas Fire Department. The children in the community were delighted to meet some fire safety friends and get their faces painted, and simultaneously our service providers could get to know the faces in their community, even if they were covered in paint. Community is everything and we were so happy to have this initiative to participate in and to provide our Hillburn Hills Community a closer relationship with the public library and the fire department.
