Elise Howard Accepted into the Leadership Arts Institute by Business Council for the Arts
We are so excited to announce that the Business Council for the Arts (affiliate of National Business Committee for the Arts) has admitted Elise Howard, our Manager of Community Assets, into the 2021-2022 Leadership Arts Institute! Business Council for the Arts was founded by Ray Nasher in 1988 to empower the connection between “commerce and culture,” and promote creative placemaking from workspace and education to the community abroad. BCA was created on the belief that arts empowerment is a valuable, central piece to regions’ successful economic growth, and it should not be overlooked. One of BCA’s many impacting programs and initiatives is the Leadership Arts Institute (LAI). LAI was established with the goal of developing “the next generation of business leaders for the arts in North Texas.” Each year a small number of applicants are admitted into the cohort, and together they are trained in nonprofit board best practices, critical issues impacting North Texas cultural institutions, and are empowered in their respective leadership spaces. Through Dallas City Homes, Elise has become actively involved in community development within the region, while simultaneously being immersed in the Dallas music and arts scene as a songwriter, vocalist, and producer herself. We’re confident that Elise’s passion and skills on both sides of the coin will contribute great value to this year’s LAI cohort. We are excited for her contribution in a space that serves to develop and empower leaders who have shown intention and commitment to fostering arts initiatives among their unique spheres of influence. Throughout the year, the cohort will work to create an annual project which will go live somewhere in Dallas in the summer of 2022- so keep an eye and ear out for new updates as the year progresses!
