How Dallas and DCH Celebrated National Night Out

National Night Out in Texas was October 2, 2023 and in Dallas a number of neighborhoods hosted block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and community gatherings, safety seminars, and family activities to unite neighborhoods with leadership and law enforcement and start more conversations and collaboration to make communities safer. DCH joined the Queen City Neighborhood Association, and is an excellent example of the power of this collaboration. With over 150 people in attendance, Dallas truly came out in full force. We were struck by how diverse the array of contributors were that really made the event a success. From education, to wellness, from financial planning to face painting, this community synergy created a container of hope for the future and fostered real understanding. 

Queen City Night of Unity and Celebration

The Queen City District, filled for historic buildings and with a deep-rooted history, played a pivotal role in shaping the social and cultural fabric of Dallas and we were fortunate to gather at the iconic Park South YMCA. We not only welcomed community vendors and resources, but were joined and supported by federal, state and local leaders including, Senator Royce West, Texas State Representative Venton Jones, and esteemed representatives from the City of Dallas. It made the event that much more impactful to be having community members having conversations with leaders, in a space of trust, friendship, and celebration. 

DCH Call to Action

We were thrilled to have been part of this event and to be able to facilitate the joining of such a diverse group of vendors, leaders, sponsors, and advocates for collaboration in Dallas. National Night Out is just one of the community events that DCH participates in and sponsor over the year. We hope that through events like these, we can ignite more conversations and cooperation in Dallas. DCH would like to give particular thanks to our sponsors, members of law enforcement, The City of Dallas, all of our vendors, and the community of Queen City for making this such an overwhelming success.
