NTX Giving Day 2022

NTX Giving Day raised 66 million in 2021, and this year will hopefully mobilize more funds for North Texas nonprofits and charitable organizations. Dallas City Homes participates in NTX Giving Day and we continue to raise more funds, year on year, and reach more donors, thanks to this platform. We are excited for NTX 2022 to mobilize our donors and broaden our reach in the Dallas area during this event, and wanted to offer more information on this event and its importance in the national giving arena.

How it Started: Organized Online Giving

NTX Giving Day is an 18 hour event orchestrated by Communities Foundation of Texas that builds awareness and mobilizes support for over 3,300 local nonprofits. Started in 2009 as an online event, it has grown into the largest community wide giving event in the nation, and raised over $441 million. Participating organizations are matched with donors through an online portal where nonprofits, foundations, and charitable organizations post their stories and commitments to the community for the coming year. Communities Foundation of Texas organizes this event and is one of Dallas City Homes esteemed partners.

About Communities Foundation of Texas

Communities Foundation of Texas is one of the largest community foundations in the nation and it manages over 1,000 charitable funds for families, foundations, companies and nonprofits. Dallas business leaders and community advocates founded Communities Foundation of Texas, originally called the Dallas Community Chest Trust Fund, to be a “safety net for social service agencies in Dallas.” Founders included Dallas attorney Paul Carrington, along with Fred M. Lange, J.L. Latimer, Henry S. Miller, Sr., and Harold F. Volk. Other early leaders were Charles S. Sharp, Russell H. Perry, William H. Seay, Maxwell A. Clampitt and George P. Cullum, Jr. Since its founding, it has awarded over $2 million in grants to Dallas nonprofits and foundations.

Mobilizing for Five for 550

Dallas City Homes is excited to commit to an ambitious goal of providing 550 units of attainable housing to the Dallas community in the next five years, and we are mobilizing support through the NTX event. Having developed or preserved the affordability of more than 2,400 apartments and contributed to the construction or renovation of 350 homes, we are confident in our goal. With the help of DCH partners, neighborhood organizations, businesses, and national entities that support progressive housing policies, we are building more healthy and sustainable communities in Dallas. Will you join us on September 22, 2022?
